It’s been a very long time since my last post. I could say I was traveling – which I was in September. October has no excuses.
I was spending time this morning with some friends, one of whom wants to write a book. Another friend suggested to her that she write something every day and a book will happen.
What wonderful advice – just write.
I had an interesting encounter with micro-kindness in late September. I was going to write about that but never did. The importance of smiling at strangers and being comfortable asking a stranger who looks distressed “are you okay?” has always been desirable but I think it’s much more important today.
We came through a period of being locked in our houses for days on end, and back into a period of being tossed around emotionally and socially like rag dolls. It’s exhausting in many ways, and I know my emotions are capable of coming out sideways. I also know I’m not alone in that.
Smile, say please and thank you, and just write.
