3,000

The supposed target for daily detention of people in the country illegally is 3,000. I tried to think of things to relate it to that are 3,000 and couldn’t get past some variable of a football field. The thought of meeting this target is staggering and mind-numbing.

I see a lot of news that gives me small hope – that there’s a lot of dissatisfaction among the ranks and such. Still, if you don’t have a lot of career choices it’s hard to move on from something that pays and offers benefits to something unknown.

Courts continue to be busy. I’m paying a little less attention to that as I get busier with other things to do. Got to stay informed though. And vote.

My state, commonwealth rather, votes for governor and some other offices this year. Very important to cast my vote in a few months.

I’m noticing the weather a little more this year than in the past. We always have had one storm where things got really black and there was lightning and thunder. This year there have been several nights of that. It makes me uncomfortable.

I cleaned up my list of Substack subscriptions as well in the last few weeks. There are way too many to keep up with and they do add up even if it’s a few dollars a month. I’m also afraid that too well informed is not much better or healthier than not at all informed.

Creating a protest sign is still on my list of things to do. I’m not good about venturing out in the hot summer for anything, but with fall around the corner I will have fewer excuses.

Won’t count me among the numbers who leave. 3,000 a day will bring the system to its knees. Got to pray for that, and that someone sees the light.
